The information in these guidelines is aimed to assist healthcare professionals in less-resourced countries to optimise the clinical care of children and young adults with diabetes while considering resource- and cost-related issues.

Type 1 diabetes warning signs - posters

To help prevent Diabetic Ketoacidosis

These posters aim to increase awareness of the signs and symptoms of type 1 diabetes so the right diagnosis and swift treatment can be initiated to prevent life-threatening Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA).

These posters can be displayed in hospitals, community centres, churches or mosques, and other common areas.

The wallcharts below aim to raise awareness of important diabetes treatment and management aspects. They can be displayed in hospitals and community centers.

Camp guidelines

Guidelines for conducting diabetes camp activities in a less-resourced country

LFAC collaborated with the Diabetes and Education Camping Association (DECA) to develop these guidelines.

Camps offer a unique peer-support opportunity for young people and caregivers, and can enhance diabetes management skills, confidence, and resilience in a fun and safe environment.
